Every new project we intend to carry out goes through the process of structured evaluation. The various volunteers or field workers of Sanvedana identify the projects. In addition, our donors also suggest some projects and some others come to our notice from various other sources.
For every project, a project owner and a sponsor is assigned from the review board. The assigned project owner, with the help of the internal sponsor, evaluates the project and comes up with a proposal, which clearly identifies and outlines the following:
Who are the intended beneficiaries?
What benefits does the project create?
How do we ensure success?
What are the critical success factors for the project?
What are the boundaries of the project?
How long does the project need to be run to achieve maximum benefits?
What is the basic cost allocation structure for the entire project?
After the project has been approved in principle by the review board, the detailed cost analysis and required cash flow model is created. The whole process of approval takes around four-to-six weeks and the actual project start is worked out based on cost analysis, cash flow models and the available resources.
